Country Creek Log Homes

STEPS TO SUCCESSFUL LOG HOME PLANNING & CONSTRUCTION

  1. DESIGN PHASE
    1. LOCATION: Purchase new land or designate currently-owned land on which to build your new log home.
    2. BUDGET: How much home can you afford? Get pre-qualified by our lending institution.
    3. REQUIREMENTS: Discuss your home needs and wants with your Country Creek Log Homes representative.
    4. DESIGN: Choose a design from Kuhns Bros. Signature Design Series or work with Robert to create a custom design.
    5. LOG PACKAGE ESTIMATE: Robert will submit the design for a log package estimate (or go right to an actual quote)
    6. QUOTE/PRICE FREEZE: With a $1,000 deposit to Kuhns Bros. Log Homes, Kuhns Bros. will provide an actual quote and guarantee a one year price freeze; an additional $1,000 deposit will activate your home’s Preliminary Plans.
    7. CONSTRUCTION BUDGET ESTIMATE: Next, a budgetary estimate is made for the construction of the total project.
    8. FINANCING: Contact your financial institution or allocate the funds for the project.
  2. LOG PACKAGE ORDER PHASE
    1. CONSTRUCTION CONTRACT: Sign a contract for the total construction project, a deposit of 10% of the total contract paid.
    2. DEPOSIT ON LOGS: Order logs with a 20% deposit on the Log Package for Kuhns Bros.
    3. BUILDING PERMITS: At this point, the construction process begins.
  3. CONSTRUCTION PHASE
    1. START CONSTRUCTION: Excavation, foundation and steel beams (if required).
    2. LOG PACKAGE ARRIVES: Payment for the balance of the log package is due at the time of delivery.
    3. LOG ERECTION: Erecting the log structure -- posts, girder beams, floor joists, sub floor, logs, load bearing walls, etc.
    4. CONSTRUCTION DRAWS: Make progressive payments during the construction process as required (Monthly draws will likely be needed).
    5. CHANGES, ADDITIONS OR DELETIONS: Written change orders (and payments, if necessary) will be required for changes during construction.
    6. COMPLETION OF PROJECT: The home is completed. Note: Construction times vary and are affected by the complexity of the project and weather conditions.
